Hi everyone, Peace and Blessings!

I was away in Cuba and just returned last night. I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I have had his name on my 'refrigerator prayer list' for many months. I have wonderful memories of your father and recall especially one comment he shared in a group I was in many years ago at St. Joseph's. We were invited to share a 'synonym' beginning with the first letter of our first name describing ourselves in relation to how we were 'coming' to the meeting. Well, your dad decided that this particular group was not for him and he said; "You can call me "Goodbye George" and he promptly left the group with great laughter from himself and those of us gathered. He was a lot of fun and I know you will miss him terribly. You have all been so good to him. I know my mom enjoyed living next to him and Betty while she was at the Villa. A good friend and neighbour. Another saint in heaven!

Blessings, Peter

We are so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. What a dear man George was and always a special friend to Pat and me as we shared time at family gatherings over the years. We know only too well, that he was a precious and an amazing Dad, father in law, Grampy and Uncle to all his children , grandchildren and nieces and nephews ....It was always great fun to run in to him, when he was able to be out and about ! ALways a story and a laugh! Uncle George had a love for life that was infectious to say the least...and what a beautiful life he was given...sharing so many wonderful and happy years with Aunt Betty...the love of his life!
All of you have given so much love to your wonderful parents over their lifetime...they are surely looking down together with so much love and pride for the blessings they received in all of you...what a beautiful family you are!
Pat and I extend our deepest sympathies to each and everyone of you and also want to convey our regrets that we will not be able to join you as you celebrate your Dad's life and share in you final goodbyes. George will always be fondly remembered in our hearts. Our love and prayers to all of you....ED and Pat

To all who loved George (3G - Great Grandpa George) Aug 27, 1922 - Apr 16, 2017 It is the dash (-) between those two dates that is the proof of a life well lived. All of you fit on that dash. Every smile he shared, every note he played, every hand he shook and every life he touched so gently and lovingly fits on that dash. We are put here by God to love and be loved - George served God and all of us so very well. With our love and deepest sympathy Amelia and Katherine

It is sad news that I hear of the passing of Mr.Douglas, That is what I have always called him. He was a big influence in my younger years when he and Mrs. Douglas allowed me to live them for many nights when my mom was sick and passed away. I will never forget going to the damn with the girls and finding the eels in the cage and then being asked if I wanted to taste one. lol Thinking of Carol, MaryKay, Elizabeth and Lynn and the boys at this time. hugs to all

It breaks my heart to read of Georges passing, we knew it was near but it's still painful. He was such a joy to be around , he always tried to be upbeat. I wish you knew how much I enjoyed my time with him on the Supportive Housing Floor, I looked forward to walking and talking with him after each meal. We had some good chuckles on those short walks , and we had some sad talks-- he so missed Betty. They are both together now and the love story continues.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Douglas Family. Hugs to all of you.
