Frances Veronica Leaver

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Frances V. Leaver which occurred on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Born May 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eleanor (Shannon) Bowes and wife of the late Frank Leaver.

Frances will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.  She devoted her life to caring for the needs of her family.  She was an avid Bingo player, scratch ticket player, and a true fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.  Some of her best times were when she was shopping.

Frances is survived by her children; Ron “Joe” (Marie) Edison, Lorna (Walter)Truan and Judy (Bill) Jolie, all of Saint John, NB, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister Geraldine Collrin, sister-in-law Carol Bowes, special friends Alice and Herb and Irma Fitzgerald, Ed and Ann Harned.

Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Ken and Ron Bowes and sister-in-law Grace Bowes, brother-in-law Leroy Collrin, also her aunt Dot Kelly.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (6546-2424).  Following her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private family interment will take place at a later date.  For those who wish, donations in Frances’ memory to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
