Florence (Johnson) Dearin

Florence “Lulu” Dearin, loving wife of Jacob Dearin, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Born in Jamaica on December 22, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Ethel Johnson. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Gustavous and sisters Shirley and Mildred.

Florence worked for the Saint John Regional Hospital as a dietary aid for many years. She had strong faith and was an active member of Renewed Hope Church of God. She was a lady of color, she enjoyed music, dancing and making people laugh.

In addition to her husband Jacob, she is survived by her sons Henriques Forbes (Ramona), Devon Dearin (Sharon Renford) and George Dearin; grandchildren Ricky Forbes, Lisa Forbes (Derron Gaynor), Drei Forbes, Dante Forbes, Dakota Vandine, Marcus Dearin, Jada Dearin, Autumn Dearin, Jacob Dearin and Chloe Dearin; great grandchildren Gia Forbes and Macy Forbes; siblings Gustagus Johnson, Archibal Johnson, Victor Johnson, Samuel Johnson, George Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Gertude Johnson and Zereta Molton; several nieces and nephews.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Tuesday, March 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 14 at 11 am, followed by a reception. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in memory of Florence may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
