Eugene P.J. Brideau

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eugene Philip James Brideau which occurred at his home on Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 with his daughter, girlfriend, and granddaughter by his side. Born 1955, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Edmond Joseph and Mary Marjorie (LeBlanc) Brideau. Eugene was an Iron Worker at Ocean Steel. He enjoyed going for long drives, attending the flea market on Sundays and spending time at Tim Hortons. Eugene cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and family.
Eugene is survived by his daughter Melissa Brideau of Saint John; sons Allison Young (Jenna), Ryan Bourque both of Ontario; common-law wife Rose Basque of 14 years; brothers Stephen Brideau (Mary), Carl Brideau (Esther), Wayne Brideau (Gail) all of Saint John, Keith Brideau of Moncton; sisters Karen Keirstead and Loretta Brideau both of Moncton; grandchildren Cailey Brideau (Morgan) and great-granddaughter Kharma Nice, Triftin Turrett, and Luke Young; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his sisters Marie Crosbie and Dorine Eddy and sister-in-law Gail Brideau.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Following cremation, visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Eugene may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
