With heavy hearts but appreciation for a long life, well lived, the family of Edith Ella (Darrah) Fullerton announce her passing on September 30, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, at the age of 92. She was born in Ochre River, MB on May 13, 1925, to the late Walter and Margaret (O’Brien) Darrah.
Edie was a very social person and loved nothing more than being surrounded by children, grandchildren, friends, or her menagerie of animals; she was in her element with company. She was very active within the Senior Community on the Kingston Peninsula. She was fortunate enough to continue living in her own home, which was her greatest wish.
She is survived by her four children; Karen (Vernon) Piers, Daryl Johnston, Marlene (Bill) Titus and Kim (Nick) Nickerson, special grandson Andrew (Peggy) Mason, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers; Douglas (Dolly) and Stanley Darrah, sisters; Loreen Kinney, Leona Flewelling, and Yvonne (David) Henderson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Lynda, son Wayne, first husband Earl Johnston and second husband Robert Fullerton as well as sisters Sandra, Dorothy and Hazel.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Edie’s wishes, there will be no visitation held. A funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 1pm with a reception to follow in the Fundy Funeral Home Reception Area. A private family interment will take place at the Greys Mills Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Edie to the Greys Mills Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
