Doug Farren

With heavy hearts, the family of Doug Farren announces his passing, which occurred on July 16th, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. Doug was born in Summerside, PEI on May 24th, 1961; a son of the late Don (father of the heart) and Ann (Harrison) Duncan, and his birth father Ross Farren. Doug was the loving husband of Gloria Farren. During his working years, Doug was a Deck Hand with Marine Atlantic, and Bay Ferries. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, enjoyed photography,  loved nature, camping, and most of all, loved his family.

Along with his wife Gloria, also left to celebrate his life are his children; Steve (Nicole), Andrew (Amber), Paul (Beth), Shaylynn and Drake, Michelle (Mike), Christina (Adam), and Derrick; children of the heart Stephanie (Dean), Karen (Daniel), Jodie, Ethan (Amber), Sharon (Chris) and Big Nic; brothers Clayton (Debbie), Rick (Debbie), John, and Gary; sisters Theresa (Donald), Arlene (Ernie), and Elaine (Walter). Doug is also survived by many grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, mother-in-law Barbara Brewster, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends, and his loving canine companion Shep. Along with his parents, Doug was pre-deceased by his granddaughters Madison, Ryleigh, and niece Amie. Doug’s family would like to extend thanks to the Extra Mural nurses, and special thanks to Leanna, Pam, Anne Marie, and special friends Helen, Connie, Joyce and Tina.

The family welcomes friends to join them at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Thursday, July 21st at 1 pm, from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Due to sensitivities in the family, flowers are gratefully declined.
