Donald H. Bastiaens

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Donald Herbert Bastiaens which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 17th, 2017.  Born 1956, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Pieter and Annette Bastiaens.  In his earlier years, Donald loved hunting, fishing and spending time in the woods.  He adored his grandchildren and cherished moments spent with his family and friends. 

Donald is survived by his son Donald Bastiaens (Tanya) of Saint John; sister Ann Langstroth (Les) of French Village; grandchildren Madelyn and Alexandra; great-granddaughter Nevaeh; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Peter and sister Tina Saunders.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation taking place on Monday, August 21st from 2 to 4 p.m.  As per Donald’s wishes, there will be no service.  A private interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
