Clarence Thomas Marks

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clarence Marks announces his passing on April 21, 2015 at the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 24, 1930 and spent his formative years in Sackville, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Horace and Luthera (Manship) Marks.

Clarence worked his entire career in the Financial Services Industry with the Royal Bank, Mutual Life Assurance and Wawanesa Life.

Clarence loved sports and in his younger years played basketball, hockey and softball. He passed on his love of sports and the Toronto Maple Leafs to his children.

He was a family man who cared for his family always. He was incredibly good natured and always quick with a joke and had a great sense of humor. Everyone who knew him were recipients of his kindness, gentleness and generosity of spirit. He was a gentleman.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ann (Foster), his children Brian (Bonnie) Marks, Karen (Dan) Gogan and David (Cindy) Marks; grandchildren Stephanie Marks (Branden), Clancy (Tom) Parlee, Jared Gogan, Kristen Marks (Alex) and Caileigh Marks; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers-in-law Leonald (Dolly) and Gary Foster (Dorothy) and his sisters-in-law Marie Phelps (Bill) and Leota Perkins (Leo).

The family would like to thank the staff of the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home for providing a wonderful place for Dad.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. The interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Saint John Chapter.
