Charles "Chuck" William Christiansen

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Charles William “Chuck” Christiansen, which occurred at home on August 27, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  Chuck was born on April 9, 1957 in Saint John, NB to the late Rita Christiansen.

Chuck was a tradesman with the City of Saint John for his working career, but his ability to provide comic relief at work was even more valuable than his skills.  Chuck was a character; he was funny and always able to make anyone laugh.  He was a great storyteller, and somehow seemed to become the center of attention without even trying.  Chuck loved the outdoors; specifically the woods.  He loved to hunt and camp and he was an avid fisherman.  He was also a devoted family man.  Over the years he took in and provided food and shelter and care and comedy for countless people who became family.  Chuck didn’t like to see anyone go hungry, and his generosity really knew no bounds.  He was taken far too soon and all who had the pleasure to meet him and get to know him will deeply miss him. 

He is survived by his two sons; Jarod (Danielle) and Brian, 5 grandchildren; Teaghen, Kaiden, Destinee, Kaelan and Bryson, brother Larry (Diane) and brother-in-law Percy Smith, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and his very special friend, Bev Barwell.  Along with his mother Rita, he was predeceased by his loving wife Julie Christiansen and his sister Charlene Smith. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by Chuck’s family.
