It is with heavy hearts yet appreciation for a life well lived, that the family of Cecil Raymond Kirkpatrick announces his peaceful passing that occurred on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1935 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Earle and Gertrude (Randalls) Kirkpatrick and the husband of the late Patricia (Russell) Kirkpatrick. Cecil worked at the Saint John Shipyard for many years as a Pipefitter and was a long-time member of Local 213.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Russell (Gisele), Douglas (Bridget), Linda (Carl) Campbell and Steven (Tiffany); brother Robert (Molly) Kirkpatrick; grandchildren Neil Campbell, Laura Greenwood, Allison (Michael) Bent, Andrew Kirkpatrick and Logan O’Neill; great-grandchildren Desmond Hastings and Jaron Bent; his companion Alexis Janes; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son Jim Kirkpatrick, a brother Richard Kirkpatrick and a sister Gloria Seeley.
Cecil, who will fondly be remembered for his kind and gentle demeanor, lived by the motto “always treat others the way you wish to be treated.” He had a passion for country music and loved dancing along to it. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Saturday and Sunday March 10th and 11th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday March 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Terry Fox Foundation.
