Catherine Kane Gibbon

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Catherine Kane (McColl) Gibbon, loving wife of 49 years to Robert “Bob” Gibbon passed peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on May 12th, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born in Alexandria Scotland on March 19, 1944, to the late Alexander and Helen (Welsh) McColl. Cathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nanny, sister and friend. She loved Bingo, singing, especially “Frankie & Johnny”, coffee at McAllister Place with friends and precious time with family. In her earlier days she worked at the Saint John Regional Hospital as a photographer taking photos of new born babies. Cathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Bob of Saint John; son Bobby of Saint John; daughters Kimberly Glew (Dana) of South Bay and Tammy Harley (John) of Saint John and Krissy Webb, who was like a daughter; precious grandchildren Zachary, Madison, Johnny and Adam; brother Alexander McColl of Scotland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Martina Sonier of Saint John, Georgina Vienneau (Raymond) of Saint John, Joy Irwin (Sonny) of Quispamsis and Don Gibbon (Kay) of Nfld; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and friends in Canada and Scotland. Along with her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her brothers John and Donald, sister Mary O’Brien, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation and service on Tuesday May 16th from 11:00 a.m. -1:30 p.m. Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception.
