With heavy hearts the family of Bertie Gladys Doyle, loving wife of the late Colin “Dutchie” Doyle, announces her passing on Thursday February 15, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1927 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bertha Lawrence. Bertie was employed for many years as a stores clerk with Saint John Shipbuilding and Drydock and Calp’s. She loved to cook and enjoyed the outdoors, especially, fishing, hunting, gardening and camping. She is survived by her sons Michael (Mary) of Barrie, ON, Martin (Paulette) of Quispamsis; daughters Patricia Mullen of Quispamsis and Deborah (Raymond) Scott of Singhampton, ON; sister Phyllis “Fanny” (Donald) Hanlon of Saint John; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Harold and sisters Marjorie Coholan, Mae Barry and Violet Fairweather.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday February 19, 2018 at 12 Noon. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated.
