Barbara D. Burgess

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Barbara Dorothy (Logan) Burgess which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 23rd, 2018.  Born 1931, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Dorothy (Harris) Logan.  Barbara was a member of the Forest Hills Bridge Club.  She enjoyed cooking meals for her family.  She was an avid reader and she loved to garden.  Barbara had fond memories of her camp in Holderville.  She adored her grandchildren and she cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. 

Barbara is survived by her sons Ian Burgess (Lisa) of Saint John, Bruce Burgess of Saint John, David Burgess (Brenda) of Halifax; brothers Jamie Logan (Judy) of Saint John, David Logan (Doreen) of Saint John; brothers-in-law Murray King, Don Coughlan and Laurie Legere; sister-in-law Joan Logan; grandchildren Drew, Adam, Stephanie, Michelle, Robert; great grandchildren Tyson and Jack; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband Robert, son Malcolm, brothers Fred and Robert Logan, sisters Jean Coughlan, Eileen Lewis, Patricia Connelly, Dorothy Peters, Marion King, and Mary Legere.    

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, February 25th 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Monday, February 26th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of NB, Arthritis Society, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
