Arthur Gerard Steele

Peacefully at Saint Josephs Hospital, Arthur Gerard Steele, devoted husband of Madeline (Landry) Steele of 58 years was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour, in his 80th year on Saturday, March 31, 2018. He was the son of the late Leslie David and Kathleen (MacAfee) Steele.

Arthur lived his life as a very caring, loving, generous and giving person. He was devoted to his family, friends and also lending a hand to those in need. He was known as a hard worker, being employed with Canadian Tire, D&J (Brett’s) and the Labourer Union. Arthur was truly devoted to his faith, attending Mass on a daily basis.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife Madeline and their children; Dianne Luke of B.C, Linda Steele (Joseph Peters) and Andrew (Sally) Steele both of Saint John, N.B.  He is also survived by his 2 brothers; Leslie and David and 2 step brothers; Brian Naves and Michael Mills (Mary Jane), sister Lynn Bourgeois (Rod) and step sister Donna Ward (the late Larry).

He will be forever missed by his 2 grandchildren; Toni Kindred and Christopher Steele and great grandchildren; Sophia, Aubrey, Dominic and Dresdon, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Arthur is predeceased by his son Michael Steele, brothers and sisters; Joseph, Jack, Bill, Hughie, Richard, Betty Knox, Rita Swift and Catheryn Craft.

Arthur will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Monday, April 02, 2018 between 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 03rd at 12 noon from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
