Art F. Davidson

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Art Francis Davidson which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Thursday, January 28th, 2016.  Born 1927, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Francis Thomas and Mabel (Wright) Davidson. 

In his earlier years, Art worked for the Saint John Dry Dock and the C.P.R.   He was actively involved with horse racing and was a well known horseman and harness maker.

Art is survived by his sons Art (Linda), Christopher (Brenda), Gary, John (Susan); daughters Judy Davidson (Lonnie Stokes) and Gail Camick (Brian) all of Saint John; sister Irene Gates of Rothesay; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Meahan), brother Clarence Davidson and sister Dorothy Watson.   

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, January 31st from 3 to 7 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Monday, February 1st at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  Donations in Art’s memory may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
